The Ryan plan
Thanks to the Ryan Plan we now know 86% of Americans LOVE Medicare, so one can only assume they would love it even more if they all actually had it.

Please end healthcare discrimination.
I am a healthy woman, a single mother and self-employed.
My monthly medical insurance premium is $800, more than my mortgage. Still, if I need to fill a prescription, I usually have to get it from abroad; still I have huge deductibles and copayments.
What I do not have is a savings account, so where I ever to really need my insurance, I could not afford my share anyway.
Government provided healthcare is a right if you are over 65, it is a right if you are under 21, it is a right if you are a government employee, it is right if you are poor, (Medicaid), but if you are middle class, between 21 and 65 and not a government dependant, you pay for everyone, you pay for yourself, you pay for the insurance companies profits for all of you.
ENOUGH, if it is a right, a right protected under the law, then is no longer a matter of debate; it is a 14th amendment issue.
Forget public option, it was a compromise to begin with, not a great place to start negotiations. How about this, by decree, as of today Medicare kicks in at 55, next year at 50 and so on.
We claim stock for R&D of Rx and bring the prices of medications to the price US labs sell them abroad, (a 7th), and include them as a vital part of any health plan.
Medicare taxes go up progressively to cover everyone.
